"Nice horse, who finished last season on a disappointing note. After a good break we are hoping a step up in trip will suit, but may just need the run here today."
James Evans

"Gained a deserved win at Hamilton back in July and ran well to be second after that. Had a few excuses the last twice as tried 2m and didn't really stay and then got bumped at the start last time at Beverley. Still 6lbs higher than that summer win so more needed, but the trip today (1m4f) will suit and will love the soft ground. Also had a month off to get over those quick runs and seems well for the break. Generally, a consistent sort, but does have a habit of being placed more often than winning. On a plus, we are in a better race so gets in with just 8-9 and gets weight all round, plus with the jockey's 3lb claim that light burden will be a help. Overall might be a tough ask to win, but better expected than last few runs."

"By the high-class German-trained middle-distance performer, It’s Gino, who was 3rd in the Arc (the sire of Grade 1 winner hurdler and Grade 2 winning chaser, Lalor) and out of a 3-time winning ‘Group placed’ mare. This full brother to a 9-time winner was ready to run in the spring, but was unable to due to Covid. However, he has been away for a racecourse gallop in the spring, and he looked a smart prospect. I look forward to seeing him on the track now."

"Hasn't really fired for us over fences in the two runs he's had since joining the yard. So, we gave him a break and also a wind op over the summer as got tired quickly last time. Back over hurdles here to get his confidence back, but his better form is over the smaller obstacles anyway and has form at the track. Is also back to a nice mark - only a pound higher than last win - and should be fine on the ground, but any rain would help his cause. Fit and well at home - has been doing plenty of work, while it's nice to get going with him again and in what doesn't look the best of races must have a chance and shouldn't be far away."

"Pisgah Pike had a wind operation over the summer, and after a positive seasonal debut, he bolted up in a novice at Hexham. That wasn't much of a race, but the manner of his win was impressive. He makes his handicap debut in this competitive Listed event, but he is totally unexposed and off bottom weight he could play a part."

"Recently come back from a break and is very fresh and well at home so looking forward to running him at Haydock here today - where he's a proven course and distance winner. The ground will be in his favour, as it's on the softer side of good and he should run a nice race. The plan will be to stick him in behind and ride for luck - hopefully he can come with a late run and be bang there at the finish."

"Needed the run in the end last time out at Cartmel over fences after just over 6 months off and probably not totally suited by the track that day. Back over hurdles here too, but is rated 3lbs lower than over fences. The longer trip is fine too - has won over his distance - this also represents a slight drop in grade to what he's been running in. Acts on any ground, so any rain is fine as well. Looks a decent race and not without a squeak as she's certainly come on for that last race, but it's no secret his better form has been over fences - yet to win over hurdles from 10 runs - so a bit to answer on that score."
Michael Scudamore

25th Sept Result 2nd 12/1

"Got off the mark last time here on his ninth run, but had been knocking on the door a bit before that. Up 4lbs for that but we offset some of that with Saffie Osborne able to claim 5lbs - last time the jockey could claim 3lbs, so really the horse is only 2lbs worse off this time. Up from 1m to 1m2 1/2f here but kept on well to suggest it's worth another try and that last run also came on soft ground to also back up that - the last time he tried this trip it came off a long break too. But he will need to relax again in order to get the trip. Probably a deeper and more competitive race than the last one too, but the horse is full of confidence after that last run and if able to save a bit for the end of the race and relax then should not be far away."

"Has run well for Georgia the last twice so she keeps the ride and claims a handy 5lbs again. Is ultra-consistent and will appreciate the rain that has fallen over the last 24 hours. We think she can run well here today with decent e/w claims."
Charlie Fellowes

"Happy with her debut run at Wolverhampton, when fourth over 7f. Dropping back to 6f here as seemed to get tired the last day. Probably not a race to go mad in, as a lot of unraced and lightly-raced sorts, but Tom Marquand a plus in the saddle and with the expected progress should not be far away - Each-way chance."
